Manchester United fans know that the summer transfer window is not closed, but they are very happy with the signing of Leny Yoro. The former Lille defender is considered a generational talent and will now arrive in the Premier League this upcoming season. He has played a full season with Lille and has provided some solid performances.

Before arriving to the Red Devils, Leny Yoro was rumored to become the new Real Madrid's defender. He was seen as the new Sergio Ramos. Florentino Perez said many times that he was a prior target, but that they won't pay more than $40 million dollars for him. They even wanted to wait 1 year, so he could arrive as a free agent.

Since Real Madrid stepped away from the negotiations, and with PSG not really into the deal, Manchester United won the signing of Yoro. They are confident on his skills, and how he performed last season. It is reported that the final agreement between Lille and Manchester United was around $67 million dollars.

The French defender was key for Lille this past season and played in the UEFA European Conference League. Yoro is expected to deliver for Man United this upcoming season and defend against some of the best players in the world. Fans think that he is ready for the challenge, and he was asked who his favorite opponent has been so far. His answer was very surprising as he named one of the best players in the world.

Yoro said, "My favorite opponent? I really liked playing against Mbappé." The French defender faced PSG on a couple of occasions during his time in Ligue 1. Mbappé would've been his teammate at Real Madrid since Los Blancos were interested in signing Yoro this summer, but Man United outbid them for the player, and Lille accepted the offer. Yoro then decided to accept the move, and hence, it was official.

Yoro also mentioned another player during his first interview as a Manchester United player. He mentioned a player he faced in the Conference League a couple of months ago that he will soon play against this upcoming Premier League season. After talking about liking to play against Mbappé, Yoro said, "Of course, it was a really big deal, so it helped me a lot to improve myself. It was good (also) against Ollie Watkins."

Yoro now has European football experience and has played against some of the best players in the world. It is clear that Manchester United has full trust in Yoro for next season, and Erik Ten Hag may start him ahead of names like Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, and Harry Maguire.
