Lamine Yamal once again shocked and impressed the world on a football pitch as he scored an incredible goal for Spain against France in the EURO semifinal. He scored the equalizer for Spain, which was trailing 1-0 in the 9th minute after Kylian Mbappé assisted Randal Kolo Muani, who scored a header in the box. Yamal made it 1-1 in the 21st minute with a long shot outside of the box, shutting critics like Adrien Rabiot, who said before the game that the teenage sensation would need to do more to beat France. His goal and his performance against France led Spain to win 2-1 and advance to the final of the EUROS, the first major international tournament for Spain since 2012. He broke multiple records at the match vs France, like becoming the youngest player ever to score at the European Championship. He was also the youngest player to feature at EURO and the youngest player to ever assist in the competition. He also won the Man of the Match award, which made him the youngest player to win this award in a UEFA game.

He is the favorite to win the Golden Boy award later this year when he will be 17 years old. Yamal turns 17 on Saturday, a day before the European Championship final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. He broke records at FC Barcelona, like becoming the player to score in La Liga and the youngest player to feature in El Clasico.

Yamal is the clear favorite to win the Best Young of the Tournament award for his performances at the EUROS, but he is also one of the favorites to win the Best Player of the Tournament award. At the EUROS ahead of the final, Yamal has one goal and has provided two assists.
