Tournaments pass and Jonathan Rodríguez remains the main offensive reference that Cruz Azul has for the Apertura 2021 tournament. The Uruguayan forward has shown that he has all the qualities to leave his mark on the club, being the great scorer of the Machine during last season, that of the title.
Jonathan made his professional debut in 2013 and has accumulated a significant number of touchdowns thus far. Although he had a brief stint in Europe, where he played with Benfica and Deportivo La Coruña, the South American found his best version since playing in Mexico.
The Transfermarkt portal quotes its services at 8 million euros, although surely the Machine would sell it for a much higher amount. If the Uruguayan leaves the Noria soon, it is expected to be for more than 12 million euros.
Jonathan Rodríguez arrived at Cruz Azul in 2019, and since then, he has been one of the most important figures in the Liga MX. In total, he played 88 games, between national and international tournaments, in which he scored 42 goals, giving an average of 0.47 goals per game.
Jonathan Rodríguez began his career in Peñarol in 2013, and had a step in Benfica of Portugal early. Since then, he emigrated to Deportivo La Coruña of Spain, and only then came to Liga MX to play in Santos Laguna, the team before than Cruz Azul.
