André-Pierre Gignac will define his future during the next hours. The French attacker aged 34 could be leaving Tigres after five years at the club. There are some options for him to move on and the Liga MX side is needing to reduce their expenses immediately, something that motivates his departure.

Gignac is the best paid player on Mexico, earning $4.6 million per season. Tigres is looking to reduce the amount of money invested in their squad after a tremendous crisis and that is why they could be considering him transferable. The player doesn’t look with bad eyes to make a move either.

The worst option for Tigres would be letting him out for free. Gignac’s contract with Tigres ends on June 2021 and if the player doesn’t negotiate a renewal, he could be leaving without leaving money to the club. That will be defined during the next weeks.

If Gignac finally leaves, either it is in a sale or after his contract expires, there are many teams interested on signing him. One of them is NYCFC MLS side. A contract as the one he earns in Tigres or even better could be a great option for him. During his professional career, Gignac played for FC Lorient, Pau FC, Toulouse and Olympique Marseille, before arriving Tigres.
