According to Forbes, Carlos Slim is the 14th most rich person in the world thanks to his variety of business, from telecommunications to real estate, and even a sports investor, as he currently owns Spanish side Real Oviedo from Spain’s second flight.
His investments have led him to help teams like Real Madrid or Atlético Madrid to build their stadiums, something that made him have control of Wanda Metropolitano until Los Colchoneros pay their $200 million debt.
According to reports, Atlético Madrid has until 2028 to pay their debt with the Mexican billionaire after negotiating a 10-year period in 2018. And although Slim hasn’t said a thing about wanting to acquire Los Colchoneros, he’s known for his investments in soccer, which could potentially lead to him becoming the owner of Atleti, one of the most renowned soccer clubs in the world.
