At first, the hiring of Henry Martín to America had been incomprehensible despite the fact that he was known by Miguel Herrera, coach of the Eagles and who directed him during his time at the Xolos de Tijuana. However, the Mexican managed to silence his mouths in the past Apertura 2019, in which, thanks to his goals, he ended up as one of the main forwards of the tournament.
However, beyond his goals in America, and having quickly adapted to what Santiago Solari is looking for, what is most surprising is the way in which he celebrates his goals. The truth is that this began months ago, in a match in which America passed over the Chivas de Guadalajara. At the time of converting his goal, and having previously premeditated it, Henry gave rise to a new tendency when it comes to celebrating.
Henry Martin has two characteristic celebrations, and his origin does not come from his own head, but rather they are copied from a Mexican soccer figure. The first of them consists of raising the 2 arms and simulating a pair of spears, while the second, takes off his boots, and shows them to the public as if placing some flags on a bull.
The origin of both celebrations does not go back directly to one of the glories of Mexican soccer, and a legend of America, such as Cuauhtémoc Blanco. In fact, and in the forward's own words, he seeks to honor the former footballer.
The 27-year-old soccer player has scored 50 goals between Liga MX, Copa, CONCACAF Champions League, Campeones Cup and GNP Cup for Mexico with the team led by Santiago Solari. In total, he played 138 games with the America jersey.
