The new star that Ronald Koeman asked for at FC Barcelona to play aside Lionel Messi

Ronald Koeman has been working since his arrival to FC Barcelona on making a plan with which Lionel Messi could perform as he did once a day in the Catalan side. Putting top players aside him, as Antoine Griezmann or Philippe Coutinho, didn’t work so far and those whom they understood each other better with the idol were youngsters, as Pedri González.

The Dutch head coach is now looking forward to promoting a player from Barça B that he wants to see playing with Messi. His name is Álex Collado, he is just 21 years old and plays as an offensive midfielder or a winger. Being the captain and using the jersey no. 10 in his team, he is one of the players in which much faith is deposited.

Collado played when a kid at Espanyol, but joined La Masía when he was still a boy. Since then, he has been progressing on the categories of Barcelona and hasn’t yet had his professional debut with the first team. During the last weeks, he scored a golazo when kicking a corner kick, that make him famous on soccer world.

Messi is still defining what he will be doing on 2021 and Koeman wants to convince him to stay at Barcelona. The legend has some options to move on after more than 20 years at the club, including proposals from top teams, such as Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City, and others from the MLS.
