Paris Saint Germain endured a frustrating midweek in the UEFA Champions League after they were outplayed and held to a 1-1 draw in their group opening match, despite having a more expensive squad than the Belgians and fielding a team that had Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe at once.

Lionel Messi was not exempted from the poor midweek game. He was even shown a yellow card for a foul later on in the game. It was his first start and first full match for PSG and it did not end well. When will he have the chance to play again and where will he play?

When next will PSG play?

PSG's next match is a Ligue 1 match against one of the best clubs in France, Olympique Lyon on Sunday evening by 7:45pm GMT.

Where will Lionel Messi play?

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino plays a 4-3-3 formation and has deployed Messi as a winger on both sides, though he prefers to operate centrally, either as a number 10 or a false striker. In his last game, he played Messi as a right winger, with Neymar on the left wing and Kylian Mbappé as the striker.

How much does Messi collect at PSG?

Messi's annual salary at PSG is $41m per annum, which means he collects $853,000 per week. He had spent a month at PSG and has collected $3.4m
