One of these young players has trained with Barcelona and Manchester City, where Pep Guardiola was impressed with his talent, although he can’t sign yet with the citizens as he’s underage, which is why he returned to Los Angeles to sign a homegrown contract with LA Galaxy.
Alex Alcalá has been referred to as the next Messi and has potential to become one of the best soccer players in the world. Luckily for Mexico, he’s decided to be part of El Tri, which he’s said multiple times he’s proud of wearing their colors, as he grew up in a Mexican household.
Currently, Alex Alcalá plays for LA Galaxy academy teams, but has an agreement to join Manchester City as soon as he turns 18, which will happen in 2023. He’s yet to debut with the Galaxy on US top flight, but with only 16 years he already is playing in USL Championship.
