Pep Guardiola's 200th Premier League match in charge of Manchester City was one to forget as he was well beaten at home by Crystal Palace and it was a Chelsea academy graduate on loan at Crystal Palace who was the star of the match.
Chelsea's Cobham academy is one of the most famous academies in the world and is reputable for producing very good players, many of which are starters at other clubs despite not playing for the club. They are mostly on loan and are famously referred to as the loan army.
Conor Gallagher is one of the midfielders to have made it out of Cobham in recent years and has impressed on all loans he has gone to, he looked set to break into the first team under Thomas Tuchel but the manager opted to have him in a Premier League loan at Crystal Palace.
Gallagher has taken his chances at Crystal Palace under former Arsenal player Patrick Vieira. He has played nine Premier League games, scored three goals and provided two assists and has been one of the best young players in the league. Tuchel rates him highly and could make the team next season.
