Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo would be replaced by Luis Campos following the shocking turnaround with Kylian Mbappé to stay at the club, according to ESPN.
Kylian Mbappé is due to sign a three-year deal, spurning a long-awaited transfer to Real Madrid after a change of heart following months of negotiations between the two clubs.
One of the key points of Kylian Mbappé's talks with PSG centered on Leonardo, with whom he has an uneasy relationship.
In one of the many rounds of talks held with the PSG hierarchy, Mbappé said he did not like Leonardo as the club's sporting director next season and identified transfer guru Campos as an alternative.
Campos was at Monaco when Mbappé burst onto the scene and won the Ligue 1 title in 2017, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. The 57-year-old Portuguese has a reputation for unearthing top talent and securing big transfer fees for hidden gems, with Mbappé being one of many notable success stories.
Campos joined Monaco in 2013, and four years later the club had won its first title in 17 years. At Lille, Campos developed and transferred more players, including Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel to Arsenal, which earned the club nearly €100 million.
Campos is a free agent after leaving Lille, and according to ESPN, Mbappé believes meeting with him could move the club forward. The sources added that Mauricio Pochettino's future as coach is still up for grabs, with former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane the favorite to take over if the PSG boss is sacked.
