With the UEFA Champions League draw, the Chelsea vs Real Madrid clash is already known, and everyone is wondering, how do the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich by the UK affect?

These sanctions have disrupted everything within the Blues, and will undoubtedly affect this quarter-final match of the tournament.

This is how Abramovich's sanctions will affect the Chelsea vs Real Madrid match

Everything seems to indicate that due to the sanctions against Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea vs Real Madrid match will be played behind closed doors, a situation that has even worried the club's coach, Thomas Tuchel.

This is because, among the sanctions imposed on the club by the United Kingdom, it is contemplated that the club can only spend 25 thousand euros per trip, they can not generate income from the sale of merchandise and they can not make transactions with players.

That is to say, they cannot renew players, and finally, the sanction that will surely be reflected in the UEFA Champions League match: they cannot sell tickets either for their supporters or for visitors.

Why, if they can't sell tickets, is there still a crowd at Stamford Bridge?

What is happening, in this case, is that Chelsea fans have all 19 Premier League matches included in their season ticket, which explains why their league matches are still played to a full stadium.

But this does not apply to tickets for UEFA Champions League matches, as these are put on sale with a different mechanic, so Chelsea will be left without the revenue that these ticket sales generate.

Therefore, Abramovich's club will no longer receive the 30 euros that tickets for the Champions League match cost, which will mean that they will lose the income generated by their stadium, with a capacity of 41,837 spectators.

On this issue, the club's coach, Thomas Tuchel said: "This match is for the people, hopefully, we will find a solution soon. I trust the board, which is in dialogue with UEFA and the government to find an exemption".

The coach made this statement at the press conference ahead of the FA Cup clash with Middlesborough, a match that the club asked the FA to play behind closed doors, as it was unable to sell tickets to its fans.

However, this request was dismissed by the rival team and was even labeled as "bizarre", which raises the question of whether Chelsea will request the same to UEFA.
