The Brazilian national team will want to forget the Copa America USA 2024 after being knocked out of the quarterfinals of the competition. They drew 0-0 against Uruguay, and in the penalty shootout, the Uruguayans won 4-2 on penalties. Brazil had a poor tournament for their standards since they finished second in their group after one win and two draws. The fans really hoped to see Neymar involved in the team, but it has taken a long time for him to recover from the ACL injury he suffered in October. Neymar was not present for the Uruguay vs Brazil match, but he watched the game on the screen. When he saw the penalties, he was disappointed and very upset. Neymar was caught crying after Brazil's elimination in the Copa America and had to be consoled by friends. Neymar was at his friend Thiaguinho's show in São Paulo while also watching the match against Uruguay on his phone. The Al Hilal star believed in the team and hoped for them to win the competition after lots of criticism they received ahead of Copa America.

Neymar was at the Brazil vs Costa Rica game and at the Brazil vs Paraguay match. The Brazilian star witnessed a stale 0-0 between Brazil and Costa Rica in the national team's debut match of the tournament. The national team impressed after beating Paraguay 4-1 in the second match of the group stage. Brazil then drew 1-1 against Colombia, leading to them finishing second in Group D with five points, while the Colombians finished with seven points.

Brazil were among the favorites to win Copa America this summer, but they turned out to disappoint many fan's expectations. The semifinals are the defending champions Argentina against Canada, while the other one is Uruguay against Colombia. Brazil will now focus on its next task, which is to qualify for the next World Cup.

Brazil's next match this year

Brazil will now focus on the World Cup qualifiers, which start again in September. Brazil are currently 6th in the standings after six matches played. They won two, drew one, and lost three matches. Their next match is against Ecuador, which is fifth in the World Cup qualifying standings with eight points. A win in this game will boost Brazil up in the table.
