After the final whistle, and after lifting the cup with Di Maria and Otamendi, Messi had a cute moment with his sons when they went down to the pitch to greet his father. Thiago, Mateo and Ciro attended to all the games of Lionel, and the final was not the exception. They were all happy once again and hugged Messi, while his teammates were celebrating with their families.

The game went on and Argentina national team crowned champions of America for a record 16th time thanks to a late goal of Lautaro Martinez in the extra time. This was also Lionel Messi's 45th collective title, a record in the world of soccer, surpassing his former Barcelona teammate Daniel Alves.

Fans are comparing Messi's sprained ankle, with the one that Diego Maradona had in the Italy World Cup in 1990. Messi should now go with more examinations, that would probaby mark the time he will be out of the field. Now he will rest with his family for a few days, before returning to his club Inter Miami CF.

After Copa America, the Argentina national team will play again in the World Cup qualifiers in September, facing Chile and Colombia again. Another tournament that the fans are excited about is the Finalissima, which should be played next year against the Euro champions, the Spanish national team. There is no official information yet, but it is presumed that the match will take place in June 2025.
