Brazil has always been one of the favorites in Copa America, and this summer is no exception. Stars like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo will play for Brazil this summer in the 2024 Copa America that will take place in the United States. Ronaldinho is a legendary player who is not excited to see Brazil play in Copa America. The Brazilian icon was very honest when it came to his thoughts on the Brazilian national team, and on Instagram, he wrote a big message that expresses his thoughts on Brazil now. Ronaldinho wrote, “That’s it folks, I’ve had enough. It’s a sad moment for those who love Brazilian football. It’s hard now to find the spirit to watch the games. It’s one of the worst teams in the recent years, no respectable leaders, only average players for the majority. I’ve never seen a situation as bad as this. Lack of love for Brazil shirt and lack of football. Our performance has been one of the worst things I’ve ever seen, it’s such a shame. I will not watch any Copa America game nor celebrate any victory.”
Yesterday, in an interview, Ronaldinho also said something similar as he believes the team is missing something that the old Brazilian teams had. Ronaldinho said, “I’m not going to watch any game (during the Copa America), everything is missing, determination, joy, I miss seeing them (Brazil) play well.” Globo Sport reports that CBF [Brazilian Football Federation] president, Ednaldo, has blocked Ronaldinho on WhatsApp.
The Brazilian national team did receive lots of criticism after the 1-1 draw against the USA this past week. The performance of certain players was not convincing, and even Vinicius Jr. was criticized for not performing as well as he had done with Real Madrid this past season, as he only scored three goals for Brazil in 30 appearances.
Brazil will be playing in Group D at the Copa America 2024. Their first match will be on June 24th against Costa Rica at SoFi Stadium. The second match in the group stage is against Paraguay on June 28th at the Allegiant Stadium. The last match of the group is against Colombia on July 2nd at Levi’s Stadium.
