Lionel Messi and the Argentine national team have made two consecutive Copa America finals after beating Canada 2-0 in the semifinals a couple of days ago. The Argentine star hopes to win two consecutive Copa America championships with the national team and under Lionel Scaloni. Argentina will be playing against Colombia on Sunday in the final that will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. There is a big concern for Argentina when it comes to the final, as they now know the referee in charge of the match. Gaston Edul reports that the Brazilian Raphael Claus is the referee for the 2024 Copa América final. The referee has been in problems with the Argentina national team in the past as Lionel Messi was furious with his officiating in a 1-1 draw against Paraguay ahead of the 2022 World Cup. Messi showed his frustration towards the referee and told him, "You already sc*wed us twice." It will be an interesting watch for the final as Argentina fans believe that decision will not go their way on Sunday vs Colombia.

Argentina has not lost a single game in the Copa America this summer so far. Argentina won their group by winning all three of the games against Canada, Chile, and Peru. Their toughest challenge was in the quarterfinals of the Copa America against Ecuador, where the game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and Argentina won a penalty shootout. Then Argentina went on to beat Canada 2-0 again but in the semifinals.

The Argentina fans are furious with the decision of CONMEBOL to have a Brazilian referee in charge of the final that involves Argentina because of the rivalry between the two countries. Argentina and Brazil have some of the fiercest rivalries in international football, and the fans hope that this will not be a factor in the finals.

How did Colombia arrive at the final?

Colombia also topped their group, which included Brazil, Costa Rica, and Paraguay. They defeated Costa Rica and Paraguay but drew with Brazil. They defeated Panama 5-0 in the quarterfinals and then defeated Uruguay 1-0 in the semifinal.
