The United States is about to host the Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. The country is currently in shock as its former president, Donald Trump, was shot in the ear during a rally in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The presidential candidate survived the shooting, but a few didn't. Despite this unfortunate incident yesterday, security at the stadium for the final is set to remain the same but with a bit more precaution due to it being the final. There is a slight concern that the security measures will not be improved even more, even though the teams participating in the final have two of the most passionate fanbases in all of South America. Argentina and Colombia fans are there in Miami, with thousands of fans from each fanbase expected to be inside the stadium and some outside of the stadium to watch the match on a big screen. CONMEBOL has been questioned for more security since the incident after the Uruguay vs Colombia semifinals this past week involving Uruguayan players and Colombian fans.

World Soccer Talk reported that Felipe Cardenas spoke with CBS Sports about mentioning the security measures to CONMEBOL, but their response surprised him and many football fans. Cardenas said, "I reached out to CONMEBOL to see if both the final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami... if any extra security measures will take place, and I was told that, essentially, no."

The football analyst continued to talk about the security measures and said, "The same security measures that have been taking place throughout the tournament will be in place at those games, and they wouldn’t respond to whether the families of the players for either of those games will be moved to suites or moved away from sections that are too close to the fans."

About 800 police officers are expected to be at the final to protect the fans at the stadium. This amount is from the number of previous events held in the United States like the Super Bowl, which the Hard Rock Stadium held in 2020. Miami Dade Police: Hundreds of officers from multiple agencies will be at the stadium for the final tonight. CBS News Miami reported that Miami-Dade Police Detective Argemis Colome spoke about the protection for the final and said, "We are going to be working with local, state and federal partners and we are going to have a lot of undercover officers working as well as uniformed officers to make sure everyone's safety is our primary concern."

Copa America Final to be sold out

The Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia is expected to be sold out. Many reports suggested that the tickets were sold out yesterday. Argentina and Colombia fans will be in the stadium in large numbers, and the capacity of the stadium is 65,326.
