The Brazilian national team is one of the favorites to win the Copa America 2024 this summer, and the fans are full of confidence in their players as Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Endrick seem to be the next biggest stars from the country after Neymar Jr. While Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo seem to be guaranteed a starting spot int he lineup for the Copa America, Endrick is not on the same conversation. This seems weird to Real Madrid and Brazil fans since he scored three goals in the last three games [Mexico, Spain, and England] he played for Brazil. The 17-year-old striker will be joining Real Madrid soon, but the fans hope to see him play more for the national team so he can gain more experience at the highest level. Brazilian fans are questioning the manager of the national team, Dorival Junior. The reported starting lineup for the Copa America would be Vini on the left, Raphinha on the right, and Rodrygo as the main striker.
In a recent press conference, Dorival was asked if Endrick would be a starter for Brazil in the Copa America. The head coach of Brazil said, “We have to be a little careful with Endrick. You’ve been following my career for some time. I always used the base categories too much, I always valued them too much, and I was always very careful. While we can rush into a situation, we may not have a turnaround and a mistake can be fatal.”
The manager asked for patience in starting the young striker as he does not want to damage his development. Dorival said, “I just ask for a little patience from everyone. He comes from a very good evolution. I followed how decisive he was in the previous championship for Palmeiras, at no point did we stop evaluating and that’s why I ask for a little patience and tranquility with this boy so that things happen naturally. He can be very useful for the national team as long as we are patient.”
Endrick was the man of the match in the 3-2 win against Mexico this past weekend, and when asked about being compared to Vinicius or Rodrygo, the young striker said, “We are playing for Brazil, and you Brazilians have to support us. We do not want to be comparing whether I am better than Vini or whether Vini is better than Rodrygo. We are a family here.”
