Argentine fans were worried about Messi’s injuries, but the relieving message for everybody ahead of Copa America

Lionel Messi will be heading to another international tournament with the Argentina national team this summer in the 2024 Copa America in the United States. The Inter Miami star already won the competition three years ago and also won the 2022 World Cup. Although this year has caused the player a couple of injuries with Inter Miami, his feelings toward the tournament in a couple of weeks are high. Gaston Edul reports that Messi is as motivated as ever and wants to play as many minutes as possible. Edul said, “Messi wants to play all minutes, all games for the National Team. I’ve no doubt that he will start in the friendly against Ecuador on Sunday.” Argentina will be playing Ecuador at Soldier Field in Chicago as the first friendly ahead of Copa America. Then, the World Champions will be playing against Guatemala, which would be their final friendly match before the prestigious tournament starts on June 20th.

Messi and Argentina will be playing in Group A, where they will face Canada, Chile, and Peru. Canada will be their first match of Copa America on June 20th at the Mercedes Benz Stadium. On June 25th, Argentina will play against Chile at the MetLife Stadium. Their last group stage match will be against Peru on June 29th at the Hard Rock Stadium. If they make it past the group stage, their quarterfinal opponent will be from Girup B, which consists of Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Jamaica.

Messi scored in his last two Inter Miami games. He scored the goal in the 3-1 loss against Atlanta United, and he scored in the 3-3 draw against St. Louis City. In the MLS, scored 12 goals and has nine assists in 12 matches this 2024 season so far.
