Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has described the feeling of everyone in his home country after their recent Copa America victory.  

The country of Argentina, especially Lionel Messi, were the happiest on July 11 when the Albiceleste lifted the Copa America after a 1-0 win over Brazil at the Maracana stadium. The day they have long waited for has finally arrived. 

 

After several failed attempts and heartbreaks, Three consecutive finals the Lionel Messi captained side finally laid their hands on the prize. And the Argentine are happy for their captain for fulfilling his dream and matching Cristiano Ronaldo's record of winning a major trophy with Portugal, which he did in Euro 2016.

 

And this really means a lot to him as he expressed his feelings, “I had some really extraordinary moments with the national team, it was absolutely sensational to win this title. This is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time, fighting to achieve for years. We’ve been very close to this goal on several occasions so to finally achieve it – against Brazil and in Brazil – was really incredible.” Messi said in his first interview as a PSG player, quoted by Diario AS.

 

He said his mind can now be at peace, even the holiday after the tournament was said to be special and different in the Argentine Camp. Winning your country it's first major trophy in 28yrs is something that's worth celebrating.
