Tigres needed to win to be able to save having to play the Liga MX repechage but by drawing against Atlas he will now have to play more games to achieve his dream of becoming champion. Coach Ricardo Ferreti spoke about his team's bad game but I blame something outside his team.

Ricardo Ferreti was very angry once the game was over and I blame the VAR that they couldn't win. The Tigres coach said they should have gone to review the play in which Gignac's goal was disallowed. Ferreti said that he does not understand how they have not gone to VAR if they do it all the time for less controversial plays than those.

For the Tigres coach, the team did not qualify directly for the Liguilla because the VAR prohibited it. Although it is true that the referee could have gone to review the play that would have given him the advantage in the game, Tigres could have scored more goals but they were somewhat imprecise in the definition.

Ferreti showed all the frustration of the team for not having qualified directly for the final phase of Liga MX. It is no excuse that the referee made a mistake or that he did not go to the VAR but for Ferreti the referees wanted to make a mistake on purpose. It is a harsh accusation against the referees that could cost Ferreti some suspension or warning.
