Football has witnessed many young superstars becoming legends of the game, and now many believe that one of the youngsters who is shining will become a legend in the future. 16-year-old Lamine Yamal has been shining for Spain at the EUROS and will play in the final of the European Championship. His performances at FC Barcelona have also impressed, which led to PSG bidding over $250 million for him this summer. That has reportedly been rejected, but many do not realize the price tag that Manchester City paid for Claudio Echeverri, who is also one of the brightest young stars in world football. The Argentine attacking midfielder was signed by Man City earlier this January, and the price tag is surprising. The whole deal is worth just over $30 million, which included a loan deal for Echeverri to play at River Plate for another year, and he will be part of the Man City squad next season at the start of January. The Argentine midfielder is getting lots of support from Man City as they believe he will become the next biggest star of Argentine football.

Echeverri signed a contract with Manchester City until June 2028 and will likely play under Pep Guardiola in the second part of the upcoming season. Man City announced the signing of Echeverri on their social media pages on January 25th, 2024. The young Argentine attacking midfielder held the shirt of Man City from the past season, and many fans are excited to see what he could provide for the team.

Echeverri played and started in the last five matches for River Plate in the Argentine league. He scored one goal in those matches and has been arguably one of the best players on the team. He will have a busy summer as he is ready to represent Argentina in the Summer Olympics.

Echeverri has another opportunity to showcase his talent apart from the U17 World Cup last year. Argentina will take on Iraq, Morocco, and Ukraine in Group B of the Summer Olympics. Echeverri is expected to get minutes in the tournament under Javier Mascherano.
